SUMMARY:Day Trip - Watercolor USA & Jeff Legg Exhibits
DESCRIPTION:ANA is planning a road trip to the George A. Spiva Center for the Arts in Joplin on Friday\, August 22\, 2025. Opening Receptions for both the Watercolor USA & Jeff Legg Alchemy of Light & Shadow Exhibitions are from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm that evening. \nWe will carpool up Joplin and take in the shows so if you can drive a vehicle for us that would be great. We’ll meet at the Wishing Springs Gallery in Bella Vista at 10:00 am Friday morning. We check out the art at Wishing Springs first and then head to Joplin for a late lunch at the Red Onion. We are looking into other things to do that afternoon (other exhibits that we can see). DESCRIPTION:The First National Bank of NWA\nOpening Reception\nMary Talbert\, David Rios\, Angela Teeter\, and Lisa Crews\nCurated by Zeek Taylor \nThe exhibition features the art of Angela Teeter of Rogers\, AR; Lisa Crews of Paragould\, AR; Mary Talbert of West Fork\, AR; and David Rios of Avoca\, AR. The work this quarter is amazing\, and it was a pleasure to hang each piece. There were so many I wanted to purchase. Go see this show. It will be on view through mid-October at 402 SW A St\, Bentonville\, AR. \nThis quarter\, I am featuring works by two of the artists from the Generational Journeys program: Mary Talbert and David Rios. Mary is one hundred and one years old\, and is David’s mentor in the program. David is seventeen years old. They are the oldest and youngest artists whose work I’ve hung at the bank! There will be a newspaper article about the two exhibiting in the bank. The article will also include information about the Generational Journeys program. It will be in the “What’s Up” section of this Sunday’s NW Arkansas Democrat Gazette and was written by Becca Martin. \nA “thank you” goes to Carla Nemec for developing the Generational Journeys program. I’m also a mentor in the program\, and that’s where I met Mary and David. \nA reception will be held to honor the four artists on Thursday\, July 31st\, from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The event is free and the public is invited to attend. Come meet the artists!
