Amy Peeples
A Surrealistic View
Amy invites you to bring your sketch pad and favorite drawing tools. We will be playing with music and creativity. See you there!
Amy Peeples has had a focused interest in art since age 9 when she firststarted drawing. Of course, that led to a degree in art that led to a minimum wage job. Amy returned to college in psychology with a masters in social work. Art was benched for years, but it eventually came back as family life was over and she was on her own again. She tried watercolor, done projects and crafts over the years, but returned to her beloved oils.
Today, roughly 20 years later, retirement happened – Yay! Amy’s compositions now all strive to portray nature, realism, and beauty in the world around me. But artists like Renée Magritte were so impressive. That started her realization of what was going on in the world back then. Einstein’s theory of relativity shocked the world!
So, what about now? What is going on in this world today? Science is bursting open, and yet we seem stuck. How can we express, how can we address, and illustrate our ideas about the future as our predecessors did? Inspiration from Rachmaninoff? A fantasy dance with Ravel? Sharing a picnic with Magritte?
So, let’s play a bit. Bring Your sketch pad and favorite drawing tools.
