I am an interdisciplinary and multimedia artist, mother and wife. My work is reflective of my experience as a Black woman and what I find beautiful. I often work very quickly, obsessively until I empty my thoughts with color. I wish for my artistic works to educate, enlighten and engage. I find that expressing myself via art to be like water—absolutely vital for a healthy body and mind. It keeps me balanced as I navigate a world that has long ignored my struggle, my worth, my voice as a Black woman. My current body of work features larger format substrates, bright colors, bold strokes, metallics, and gold leaf, with subject matter ranging from historical portraiture, civil rights, Florida sunsets, and plein air.
