Nadene Kranz

From prairie scenes of her childhood home in Montana to artists she admires, Nadene has expanded her sources of inspiration through travel and study. Artists with whom she has studied include Charles Reid (acclaimed watercolorist), Vern Skaug (North Dakota Hall of Fame portraitist), Kathryn Statts (Plein Air magazine favorite), Antonin Passemard (BeauxArte) and his Repin Academy trained wife, Anastasia Dukhanina.

Nadene has also been approved as a copyist in that program at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC. Her favorite is the Baroque period including artist Willem Van Alest—Flemish. I learned a myriad of textures from this study.
