Date:  Thursday, March 19, 2026
Time: 1:00 – 3:00 pm

ANA Studio
300 N. 2nd Street

Join encaustic artist and storyteller Beth Bobbitt for an immersive talk and demonstration that blends process and technique with the healing principles of creativity. Beginning with the foundations—preparing substrates and mixing beeswax, damar resin, and pigment—Beth will build layered surfaces, fuse with heat, add color, carve textures, embed materials, and create photo transfers,  while explaining how each step reveals meaning and history. At the end, she’ll invite participants to experience the process for themselves and ask questions along the way.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Beth Bobbitt is a mixed media artist who works primarily in encaustics, painting with beeswax, pigment, and resin. Her richly layered “waxscapes” explore the tension between real and built worlds and are inspired by nature, transformation, and wellbeing. She discovered encaustics while working at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and has developed a healingcentered studio practice rooted in curiosity and reflection. In 2025, she delivered a  TEDx talk on The Art of Healing. Beth’s work appears in private and corporate collections nationwide and has been featured in juried, regional, and international exhibitions.
