I have chosen to discuss will be my approach to abstract painting without doing a painting. I have some pre-made pieces that represent the process as I go through it. I will have finished prints there as well to show what my works look like when completed.
Gary started his art career while in the state of Washington 20 years ago after taking 6 lessons from a person teaching once a week at the Bellingham Library on Friday mornings. He loved the way water flowed and continued to try to control that water to create paintings. It’s taken these 20 years to get there, but he’s become an accomplished award winning and signature artist in several watercolor organizations; among them is the Watercolor USA Honor Society and the Mid Southern Watercolorists where he has earned Diamond Status. He loves to paint all subjects but is best known for his abstract work. Gary teaches workshops in Fayetteville with one coming up in June. He also teaches watercolor to seniors at the Schmieding Center for Health and Education on a monthly basis. He’s also been invited to teach at ESSA this coming October. He teaches private lessons to those interested in doing a one on one session/s.
