In October, 2022, ANA members Kathleen Siegfried and Patricia Studer spent a week at Georgia O’Keefe’s Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, New Mexico. There Dr. Studer took a painting class from a former assistant to Ms. O’Keefe and Ms. Siegfried joined a writing/collage class. What they learned were lessons well beyond the classroom as the spirit of the Mother of Modernism –Georgia O’Keefe – was an ever-present inspiration and resource. Their presentation is a dialogue that will include anecdotes about O’Keefe’s life and approaches to painting as well as the impact of this icon on their own work and on modern art in general. A bibliography and information about programs available at The Ghost Ranch will be included.

Kathleen Siegfried has been an ANA member since 2012, when she retired from a long career in education as a teacher and administrator. A member of the ANA Gallery Group, she picked up a paintbrush at age 40 and hasn’t stopped. She lives in Bella Vista, AR.

Patricia Studer considers herself a beginning painter, but her paintings tell a different story as she consistently seeks opportunities to learn more. As a new member of ANA, Patricia began showing her work in member shows this year. Her day job is as a clinical psychologist in private practice in Fayetteville, AR, which is her home.
