Since childhood I have been drawn to the realists and I would often try to duplicate the paintings that I saw in museums. I believe that early exposure to art influenced my realistic style. I prefer to work in oil and I love the play of light and shadows as well as bright clean colors. My varied sources of inspiration come from simple things in nature, ordinary things around the home, the beauty of the Ozarks, farmland and animals. I believe that art is a lifelong process of learning and growing so I often participate in workshops.
