How to stretch watercolor paper on stretcher bars.
A lot of people know how to stretch watercolor paper on flat surfaces. I will bring an example in case you don’t know about that and can have a short discussion on that topic. However, not a lot of people have ever stretched watercolor paper onto stretcher bars much like canvas. I will demonstrate how to do that as well as bring examples of finished pieces along with two pieces that have been painted using stretched paper on stretcher bars.

Gary Johnson is a Fayetteville, AR resident and self-taught artist, who now teaches classes and workshops. Educated in engineering and business with both bachelors and masters degrees he’s traveled extensively and taken workshops to help develop new ideas for his art by being a keen observer of surroundings he visits and paying particular attention to color, shape, and value. He is a Signature Member in the SCWS, KWS, WHS, and MSW.
